Charm entitled 'Eolas Beum Sula' [Exorcism of the Eye] but the text corresponds with 'Mallachd' or 'A Malediction' as found in Carmina Gadelica, vol. II. The charm begins 'Thainig di[th]ist a mach a dorust na cathrach neomh' and a note states that Colum Cille [St Columba] was able to heal men and animals.

Scope and Contents Charm entitled 'Eolas Pronnai' [Charm for a Bruise] collected from Ranald MacDonald, aged 81 years, Geàrraidh na Mònadh/Garrynamonie, Uibhist a Deas/South Uist, beginning 'An ora chuir Cal[um]-cille ris cois a ghille sa ghleann. Iocai[dh] an cnei[mhe] lium'. MacDonald states that he still uses the charm and that people who fall and are bruised but not cut come to him for the charm. Iocaidh an cnei[mhe] lium'. A note beside the title reads 'Ora Latin word'. Text has been scored through as if transcribed elsewhere.

Scope and Contents Custom collected from Roderick MacNeil, aged 88, crofter, Miùghlaigh/Mingulay about a blessing stone on Bernara an Easpuig [Beàrnaraigh/Berneray] that it was in a stone font in the graveyard and that people who were afraid would go and stroke it. There is also a note about the bishop's house that it 'was up till late and the stone upon which he rested his book while read[ing] is there still.'
